If Mamma Mia was a wedding, it was Sabrina and Warren’s. Set in the beautiful Ios, Greece. These two brought over 80 of their closest friends and family for a weeklong celebration on the island.

The breathtaking skies and crystal waters made for an absolute dream of a backdrop for their whole day. We had the opportunity to capture their day on both photo and video which we absolutely love! For us, destination weddings start a few days before the actual wedding day. We ensure we are there with ample time to location scout thoroughly beforehand so on the wedding day we know exactly where we are taking the couple, the layout of the venue etc.

The fun thing about Greece is it’s completely accessible by quad. So that’s how Tyler and I got around on the wedding day. Sabrina and Warren opted out of a first look, so the day started with some drinks while getting ready by the pool for the guys, and mimosas for the girls. Sabrina’s first look with her bridesmaids, father and brother were such a touching way to end the getting ready portion of the day. Next was bridal party photos for the guys and girls separately. We wandered down to some large rocks along the ocean and set them up there. Some of my fav candids of the girls were of them helping Sabrina with her dress climbing over the rocks.

Next was the ceremony in the open Amphitheatre overlooking the ocean from one of the higher viewpoints on the island. It was lighthearted and filled with so much joy.  Once family photos and group bridal party shots wrapped up at the ceremony spot, Sabrina, Warren, Tyler and myself headed off to another location by a church overlooking the other side of the island for their bridal portraits. My favorite part of this time was that they took some time here to sit down and read each other their vows privately to each other. It was the perfect time for them to enjoy the feeling of being officially married and have some time to themselves before we wrapped up there and headed to their reception, located at the stunning Ios club.

Their guests gave them a standing ovation as they entered the reception, while the saxophone player covered a Mamma Mia song. Dinner and toasts followed and allowed time for everyone to continue mingling, eating and drinking. Right before their first dances started they got to do the traditional breaking of the plates while shouting “OPA!” Such a fun way to honour the Greeks and the perfect segway into the party!!

Sabrina and Warren, thank you for bringing us halfway across the world to document this amazing day. We were so grateful to be a part of it all!
